How to Use "Miracle" Food
There is no other fish food on the market like "Miracle" Food, and I'm sure your fish will show obvious benefits from eating it. However, I must tell you that there are times when individual fish become so attracted to the food that they overeat it at a single feeding and become ill. This is extremely rare, and you can avoid it by feeding only a little of the food per feeding for about a week, gradually increasing the amount. This is pretty much the standard procedure for introducing new foods, anyway. Also, because of the attraction of this food, avoid feeding large, unbroken or uncrushed dense chunks of the food that your fish may bolt down.
Some fish may refuse this food. In such cases, feed nothing to them except small amounts of this food at normal feeding times until they accept the food enthusiastically. Even these fish will become accustomed to and come to prefer the food. I recommend that fish eat this food every other feeding, eating regular commercial foods in between. In most cases, you will find that you will no longer need frozen, freeze-dried, or live foods to keep your fish in top shape.
Keep most of the food frozen. Break off what you need for 3 or 4 days and put it in your refrigerator in a container such as a plastic margarine tub. The food thaws overnight at regular refrigerator temperatures. Return the thawed food to the refrigerator immediately after each feeding. If you forget to thaw the food and want to use some right away, thaw what you need in a microwave oven. However, do not do this habitually, because it can destroy some nutrients.
The food is mostly soft and pliable. You can feed it by crumbling it into your tank, or try pressing small amounts between your thumb and forefinger and flicking the resulting thin disc into the water. Large fish will eat chunks, but avoid unbroken or uncrushed, dense, large chunks. As with all foods, avoid over feeding. The food smells sour when spoiled. DON'T USE IT IN THIS CONDITION.
